The Philippine HTA Methods Guide for Clinical Equipment and Devices (CED) establishes mandatory guidance for researchers in conducting health technology assessments (HTAs) for CEDs. The guide ensures standardized methods for the complexities of CEDs given their distinct characteristics that differ substantially from pharmaceuticals. These assessments shall inform HTA Council recommendations that play a critical role in informing decisions related to public funding, coverage, and the optimization of resources by the Department of Health (DOH) and PhilHealth. By standardizing the evaluation process, the guide seeks to enhance the reliability and consistency of CED-related policy and funding decisions. This initiative reflects a commitment to evidence-based resource allocation in the Philippine healthcare system.
This document was co-developed with the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program.
