Dr. Lia Aileen M. Palileo-Villanueva is a Professor at the University of the Philippines Manila College of Medicine (UPCM), and a practicing general internist at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).  She obtained her MD and MSc in Epidemiology (Clinical Epidemiology) from the UPCM and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) as chief resident. She is currently a member of the Technical Review Board of the UP-PGH Department of Medicine and an alternate member of the UP Manila Research Ethics Board.  She regularly conducts workshops on Evidence-based Medicine, Research Protocol-Writing, and Clinical Practice Guideline Development and has provided technical support in various capacities to several clinical practice guidelines.  Her research interests include non-communicable diseases and health systems, and has published in local and international journals.
