Cho-Chiong Tan, MD

Chairperson, Subcommittee on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine


Dr. Cho-Chiong Tan is a neurologist-psychiatrist. He graduated BS Chemistry and Doctor of Medicine from Far Eastern University. He took his residency program in Psychiatry from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC), fellowship in Epileptology and Electroencephalography from the Institute of Epilepsy, Japan, and fellowship in Neurology from the Institute of Neurology, United Kingdom.

He is currently an associate professor, head of the Section of Psychiatry, and consultant neurologist- psychiatrist at the Institute of Medicine, Far Eastern University – Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEUNRMF) and the current head of Section of Psychiatry and consultant neurologist- psychiatrist at Metropolitan Medical Center. He is the current chairman of the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture. He is also a member of the National  Certification Committee of Acupuncture, Philippine Institute of Traditional & Alternative Health Care (PITAHC), and the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Acupuncture & Moxibustion Societies (WFAS). Dr. Tan is also a member of the Board of Directors of the World Association of Psycho-social Rehabilitation (Philippine Chapter) and the Board of Directors of the Philippine Association for Chinese Studies (PACS). He is also an advisor of the Global Alliance of Mental Health Advocates and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic at the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital.
