Catherine Manuela K. Lee-Ramos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management (MEM) of De La Salle University Manila and a member of Roster of Consultants for Medical Devices of the World Health Organization (WHO). She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman and obtained her Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University in the United States. She did research on electrophysiology of cardiac muscles remodeled using porcine stomach submucosa. She was a biomedical engineering consultant for Increasing the Rates of Newborn Hearing Screening with Novel Technologies and Telehealth, “HeLe: Hearing for Life” which was funded by the Commission on Higher Education-Philippine California Advanced Research Institute (CHED-PCARI). She was awarded the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) and the NUS Research Scholarship to work on detection of gastric ulcer and gastric cancer using Raman spectroscopy.
