The Secretary of Health (SOH) concurs with the final recommendation of the HTA Council on moderate complexity nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) for the diagnosis of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) with isoniazid (INH) and rifampicin (RIF) resistance testing through Department of Health (DOH) Department Circular No. 2026 – 0181 “Cascading of Recommendation for Government Financing on Moderate Complexity Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs) for the Diagnosis of Multi-drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) with Isoniazid (INH) and Rifampicin (RIF) Resistance testing” published on 28 April 2026.
As a final recommendation, the HTA Council recommends moderate complexity NAATs for the diagnosis of MDR-TB with INH and RIF resistance testing, for financing of DOH and/or PhilHealth.
