ISIDRO C. SIA, MD, PHD

Dr. Sia is executive director of the Integrative Medicine for Alternative Healthcare Systems (INAM) Philippines, representative to the ASEAN Technical and Scientific Committee on Traditional Medicines/Health Supplements, and convenor of Aralan ng Gamutang Pilipino. He graduated from the College of Medicine, University of the Philippines Manila and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Kobe University, Japan. His publications include The Best 100 Philippine Medicinal Plants (Health Futures Inc 2014) which received an Anvil Award, Encyclopedia of Philippine Medicinal Plants (PITAHC 2014) which was recognized by the National Academy of Science and Technology with an Outstanding Publication Award, and Patnubay sa Paggamit ng Halamang Gamot (PITAHC 2017). He is a retired professor of pharmacology of the University of the Philippines Manila and former Director-General of the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care.
